Up to five refills are allowed on Schedule III, IV and V Controlled Substances. There may be state rules that limit those refills further. For example, in California refills on CIII, CIV, and CV drugs are limited to a maximum of a 120 day supply. That means just the refills may not exceed a 120 day supply, not counting the initial fill.
