Ruger security 9 slide stuck.
My American is the Pro. The Security 9 has blued parts, that I have found needs to be kept well oiled as it is prone to rust, plastic sights, and a safety that is hard to manipulate and pivots from the wrong end. But it has a hammer, which in my opinion is a good thing. But the Security 9 is a very functional pistol.

My 11th round jammed while cycling into the chamber. I cant get it to clear. I dropped the mag and when I pull the slide back the entire barrel comes back with the slide. I got the take down pin out but same thing, barrel comes back with slide and will not go all the way forward (slide is jammed about a 1/4" to the rear).

That reminded me of mine, I was shooting it when new and then I had a misfeed on the 21st round, like a level 3 malfunction. I had a hard time removing the partially loaded magazine, but got it and the round out. Then it was a tussle to get the chambered brass out, but I did that. I could not get the slide back far enough to lock the slide back.It’s pretty obvious why the feed ramp needs to be a smooth, polished surface. The nose of the bullet must slide over and through this concave surface to enter the chamber. If the surface is too rough or is nicked or burred, the bullet can get stuck. I also have a Ruger SR9 (which I think has a stronger recoil spring than the SR9c) and a Ruger LCP (which I replaced the 9# recoil springs with 11# recoil springs). I kinda think if I can lock the slide open on these two, I should be able to do it on the SR9c. No offense taken.

Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm. Smith & Wesson M&P AR15 223/556. Ruger 10/22TD. Ruger SR1911. Within only a few clicks, it happened. Exactly the same thing that happened last time: the safety is stuck in off position. After a few dozen clicks, in less than ten clicks, it froze. I couldn't budge it with bare fingers. I put on a pair of leather gloves and managed to work it another dozen times.Also make sure the ejector is pushed all the way up in the normal position. If it's not, the trigger may not reset properly. Hopefully this will help but it's hard to tell without actually looking at the pistol.
