Exotics you can at least fudge by collecting the plumes and eggs early on before you start the mission and reduce egret and spoonbill spawns to near nothing, but even then, there's a fuckton you need to collect. Hello, I have had the same issue. I've got the solution, so I've picked up the first exotic mission with Arthur back in chapter 4. After that I picked up all plants and Orchids with John (and got 15 Lady Slipper Orchids) for the exotic mission buut I found out it is not counted towards the challenge until you completing the first exotic mission. Found a place with tons of egrets (very useful for exotic side mission) Just head to Lagras swamp (screenshots below). There will be a plenty of egrets on those small islands, use Dead Eye to kill as many of them as you can, as they will fly away after your first shot.
