Can anyone help decode the serial number? 6K232XX. Gun is in great shape, but will need new grips.The S&W 442 or 642 looks great and the price seems right. We can find them used from $350 and brand new from $450. I'm trying to find more information about any issues with these models and personal reviews from 642 or 442 owners. She will like to know about the recoil on the airweights vs a steel/metal revolver (ex. taurus 85).

I recently purchased the Bodyguard 380. From initial impressions, it's a good firearm. Actually quite accurate for a 2.5" barrel, and I was impressed by the smooth cycle and reasonable recoil for a firearm so small. I do think the trigger pull is extremely long though, even for a DOA.

Having only owned/shot Smith CF revolvers, I was very disappointed with the trigger pull weights, both SA & DA, as it came from the factory. The DA pull was off the scale on my spring gauge, but estimated to be about 9 1/2#. The SA pull was 4 1/2#.
