The original LCP was nothing more than a "copy" of the P-3AT whereas the new LCP II is a bit larger and heavier with a much improved trigger. For me the G42 is just too big for pocket carry. I personally carry my LCP everyday, even when I cannot carry a bigger gun, but Most of the time it is only a backup.

The LC380 is essentially a Ruger LC9 that's been converted from 9mm to .380 ACP. It's a hair bigger than the Glock 42, but looks like a giant next to it's little brother, the Ruger LCP. For the budget-concious, the LC380 is about $100-150 less than the Glock, and at the price point, it's a pretty good deal. So the 42 will not cycle some rounds where the LCP will not have trouble.
