Was givin this John deere f525, was told it had no spark. Im starting to figure out why it was free. I have replaced coil,ignitor spark plug. All fuses are good.. All saftey switches are jumpered. Still no spark. Engine cranks fine. I'm pretty sure the red wire is always hot, so you do not need to have the key on. To jump it, you need to get 12V to wherever the start signal wire attaches to the solenoid. It's purple on my tractor, but I am not sure about the 318. This is usually very easily done with a screw driver between the red wire and the start signal wire.
