I know many of you have tried insulated pads like Thermarest and Klymit, and found that it was just much better to go for an underquilt in the long run. I pay another $50 or so for the double layer and my hammock gets heavier. I happened upon 450g (1 pound) of 700+ fill down for $35. The area that I've not been able to find much discussion over is: What is the best material for an underquilt?I'd say you made a good choice based on most of us use the same stuff (zing-it/lash-it, only difference is the color).
