Personally I went mechanic but you will find books to be able to craft a good amount of things without the class. There's a bunch of mods that have different classes, but nothing that just lifts out the class mechanic because it touches so many other things like loot and doesn't cover the action skills. None of the others are as good, imho. My suggestion is to just play darkness falls and, respectfully, git gud.
