The 4 strokes are also having a lot of problems with the float in the fuel supply module. Some it is necessary to replace the complete fuel module. Step 1. Turn off your main electrical cutoff switch that governs motor ignition. Unclasp the snaps on your outboard motor upper case and remove the cowl cover. Pull the spark plug wire boot from the tip of the spark plug. I bought a pontoon a few weeks ago with the 90 hp 4 stroke efi motor. It had been stored for about a year and it had ethanol fuel in it. I drained all of the fuel out of it, cleaned the fuel supply module out, flushed the lines, cleaned the injectors, all are spraying good, installed new fuel filters and replaced the spark plugs.
