I found two big rocks just West of the wyvern trench in a little bay. I’ve built my base spanning the two. There’s beaver dams nearby and water to cruise around with my water tames. It’s also nice and close to the snowy area for owls and all the other cool dinos.

If you’re the sort of person to get easily lost, you can’t go wrong with sticking to the small lagoon or the banks of the streams. If you’ve unlocked the engram for tree platforms, this is an excellent place to begin.
Best advice is to go somewhere away from common tames, objectives or travel paths. If there are tames people want beside your base, artifacts or resources you will have visitors. Also they are right all bases can be raided. Starting on the 18th people can bring their 100k health carbos and 150k health stegos which can soak walls in under an hour.
The dungeons located in the desert area in the northern part of the map are ideal for farming items in the mid to late game. To find these dungeons, players will have to look out for a flowering cactus that is next to the rocky entrance of the dungeon.
