So I started bathing dogs and learned so much from the groomer there and it inspired me to want to become a groomer! I was getting paid $10.50/hr plus $3 each dog I bathed so I was making $11-$13/hr roughly. I then made the decision to look around for schools to get certified and the Petco opportunity popped up and I took it. Petco has the ability to make its employees feel extremely undervalued, and therefor worthless. This is not true--get out and find a place that pays you what you're worth. If they aren't a new external hire within the last year, most only make between $49k to 59k a year. Exactly, it just depends on the employee you get in line. Some are super chill, some have made me open every single pocket in my tiny wallet-purse to check inside. The one thing that I wish Petco did was allow larger purses that are clear. Really it depends on location. If you’re working at a “Magnet” store with a good amount of shift coverage, expect a bit of everything (zoning, animal care, cashiering) because the customer flow is a good chance to get your feet wet. If you’re in a location with less shift coverage, definitely expect to be more on the register.

Is petco grooming reliable? I've heard that petco isn't a trustworthy place for dog grooming but it's the only place I found. Yuppy Puppy needs dogs to be fixed, and my dog isn't, and other places don't deal with matts, and her fur is a bit matted so idk. It's only about $60, so it's a cheap price but thats another reason why I'm going there.
