The one that u have. There are better but i would say the Halberd is one of 1/3 of the most usefull weapons in DS2. It has a great damage (350 at +10 / B scaling in strength with +10) and a super moveset. Poison Manslayer is a very good weapon, the 150 counter damage works for the poison build up too. Sanctum Soldier Gauntlets will add an extra 60 poison to your weapon and the Rat Ring will add 50. Daggers have the best riposte damage in DS2. I'm not sure other than that. You can go to a higher level area, find an enemy, and practice parrying and riposting with different weapons. Fextra wiki for DS2 is pretty dang accurate if you want to check out some of the stuff on there. 1.

Depends on what you mean by DEX weapons. There are some fairly slow weapons with good DEX scaling for instance. And the Rapier certainly isn't a STR weapon but it has pretty mediocre DEX scaling (and is a DPS machine in spite of this -- mostly because it's fast enough to take advantage of the damage boost rings in the game)

There are strong pve weapons like the Rapier (or any thrusting sword), the Maces and Greathammers, or the Red Iron Twinblade. But there is no real point to try to create a really strong pve build for your first playthrough unless you don't care about not having any challenge. 13. The greatsword is probably the best pure str weapon out there, if you can stand the delayed attacks. Even works well in PvP if you can delay your r1s or trick people into thinking you have less stamina than you do. Its not big and heavy, but the gargoyle bident should be mentioned. Its the best str spear.

B scaling in Strength, does Strike damage which does extra against armoured enemies and Dragons, and swings quickly for a Strike weapon. Only downside is it's lackluster moveset and reach. I will never have a firm understanding on their decision to disregard the progressions DS2 pushed. It was completely counterintuitive. The best two out of them are the normal Rapier and the Espada Ropera, which are basically interchangeable. The normal rapier can be found extremely early in the Dark Souls II and can carry you through all of the game, while the Espada Ropera can be found later and has a cooler name.The Zweihander and it's angrier brother the Drakekeeper UGS are some of the finest big weapons in the game.
