I use it with both my Z50 and Z5 so I can use all my collection of F-mount lenses on either body. I also have the Fringer Canon EF to Nikon Z adapter which allows me to make use of some of my favorite Canon lenses on my Z's.

Being new to DSLR's and Nikon (though not photography, as I've shot micro 4/3 for a number of years now and have been a member over on the mu-43 sister forum), there are a number of intricacies of the Nikon system, and it's great to have the experienced members here as a resource.The 300 f/4 PF is about as sharp as its predecessor, which is plenty sharp for most people. The 300 f/4 PF + TC-14e III also handily beats the 80-400 at the 400mm end. Even with a TC-17e II at 500mm, I still find the 300 f/4 PF sharp enough on my D810. Encouraging to hear. For something simple and free, there is Shotcut. Have a greater desire and better hardware, there is Davinci Resolve and FCP among many others.

With the TC mounted to the lens autofocus will not work. I've tried it with both my D7200 and D750. Without the TC, the lens focus instantly on both cameras.
