The hammer of the Sig trigger is designed specifically to trap that safety lever. I've heard there are a few other triggers that will work correctly, but I've never tried. There is also an alternate safety levers available from Sig. I've heard others have just removed the safety entirely, which seems like it would be a bad idea.

I also bought a separate 14.5" barrel conversion kit recently, but that barrel is tapered at the end.
