The Remaster doesn't is not bad it's just a bit bright and less pleasing to my ears. the original has simply a better tonality. The Remaster is just about 1DB louder than the first release. It think one of the major goals of Dave Collins was, to mach the volume from each Sting album to nearly the same level.Europe. I think the mono mix of Rubber Soul is the way to go for that album, even though "Michelle" sounds pretty lousy. The original stereo mix has some balance issues regarding the volume of the instruments relative to the voices, plus the awkward panning. The remix retains most of the poor panning decisions and adds unnecessary reverb.
