All you can get in there, with the option of a few grains of some faster rifle powder next to the primer to get the whole thing lit off. H870 by itself in a 45-70 only manages about 900 fps. With 5 grains of 4759 or similar you can get about 1200 fps and a lot less unburnt powder being thrown around.2002.
