One difference was it had a faux flash hider on it, not a deal-breaker. And, whoever owned it before I did, performed a fairly decent spray paint can camo ...

The C308 is built off of a mishmash of Cetme and HK parts. Those parts are compatible, but need more fitment and finish to mesh properly. Fit and finish is something Century is notoriously poor at. The PTRs are built from the ground up off of surplussed HK G3 tooling, if I recall correctly, and it shows.
