I think Spear I think is just a consistently really good weapon. Low stance has great mobility and flying monkey jump attack actually does solid damage and can really cause problems for human enemies. Mid stance had great pokes that only get better with the increased thrust range. High stance is the least good, but has nice vertical attacks.

As for what it means, that is a bit difficult. Basically, every single attack in the game has its attack multiplier which informs its damage, but also a ki damage multiplier ...The DLC weapons so far kinda makes existing weapons with similar characteristics a bit useless. The Odachi was a dlc weapon in Nioh 1 and it benefits the same stat as Axe does. You could totally replace Axe with Odachi for faster, stronger, and wider range of attack. Odachi for everything. Hatchets are a strong competitor for new favorite weapon, in nioh 1 kusarigama was my fave. Hatchets are just so versatile, you got your ranged attacks, aoe attacks, poise breakers, combo breakers etc. Tonfa is pretty good for me at the moment.
