Baldurs gate 3 dual wield feat.
Most people tend to go for +2 dex at level 4, opting for this over the dual wielder feat. I believe the usual reasoning for this choice is based on assuming that the main benefit of dual wielder is giving you access to rapiers over short swords, giving you +1 damage and +1 a/c.

Dual Wield feat is more suited to strength martials who took Two Weapon Fighting style so they can have two heavier weapons like longswords. Although the +1 armour is always nice and dual rapiers are good. Sussur dagger is a good off hand weapon for Astarion, he can dual dash to the other end of the battlefield and silence a pesky mage. Considering the weapons available, dual wielder feat is very effective on a strength build because it lets you wield weapons that are not light. This means you can wield faithbreaker hammer plus one of the following: the xanyde mace that does faerie fire, the dragons grasp axe that lights enemies ablaze or a +1 rapier/hammer/warpick. You need a feat to dual wield them. Both weapons have to light to dual wield. Two weapons obvs means double twice the power. There's no reason to dual-wield as a Berserker unless you have a pair of really nice magic one-handed weapons. Berserker is anti-synergy with dual wielding, since you can already attack as a bonus action. Barbs favour 2handed weapons much more in general here.

Yes but missing 1 attack in dual wielding ang you're gone for the turn, doing 3 attacks with dual weapons and you still have 2 attacks doind damage when one of the three has been missed.
