Need to have unit running and check output on both sides of the breaker in the generator, then check for 240 at the transfer switch landed legs from generator. Code 1505 is RPM Sense loss. Manual says to check starter, verify both coils are firing at plugs. Hm, rereading original post, i assumed the thud sound and rpm sense loss code to be either a dead battery, a loose connection or a defect in starting system. Since it started later without issue, it just seems battery related.
