Regular maintenance needs to be documented at required intervals and you need to replace all external parts as needed but good piece of mind on internal failure. The L5P has almost a second faster 0-60 time than the same LML on paper. As I said, I had a 13 LML stock, and now have a 18 L5P, both were bought brand new, and the L5P is much quicker!! Not even close! The LML is 397/765 in power, the L5P is 445/910.

Jan 2, 2018 · My son's L5P is having fuel delivery issues and the (lift) pump by the fuel tank is whining like crazy when the temp is 15 degrees or colder . Yesterday the truck had to get towed. The fuel is treated from the terminal and we use Cenpeco super diesel klenz at the rate of 1qt per 20 gallons fuel. I was upstate NY and my LML started and ran fine ... The diameter is too big (cooler changed in 2020) and without relocating the secondary coolant pump, it's too long. 2) the CAT filter adapters sold previously don't work as the oil cooler threads have changed now. 3) the CAT filter has no internal bypass valve. L5P's pump monster amounts of oil and pressure ... according to the capacity charts on gm-techlink the oil capacity has been 10 qts. on both 2019/2020 even though the filters changed. The filter on the 2019 L5D is the smaller filter just like the 2020 L5P and it takes 10 qts. as well.
