Tim met me at Gravelly point and we launched at 0900 and cruised to the Wharf to purchase mullet for bait. We proceeded to my catfish hole north of the Key bridge and set anchor. Yes they are oily so you should fillet them (you can leave the skin on) a little salt and pepper and roll them in yellow corn meal, fry in Crisco to golden brown and drain on a paper towel. Owned a 23 Seacraft after that! The Sea Ox is very well built, very solid! Acetone won't harm your gelcoat but it may dull the finish slightly. there may be other compounds/soaps that will do the job easier or better. For the price that you paid for the cover, I would ask the manufacturer of the cover what will remove the color from your boat's finish.
