Prot is better for more challenging stuff early on but once you have 2 piece T10 for Ret the aoe damage and healing is disgusting.
Anything besides that should be fairly easy. Generally, you can solo raids when you outlevel them. So, aside from BfA raids, you can solo any and all old content raids no matter what your Ilvl is.
