The Taurus shoots quite well but the side plate and ejector latch screws loosen after each shooting at the range. I don't want a carry gun with screws that loosen. Both Ruger's don't have these screws to loosen.

It is unlikely that the new barrel will index correctly so you will need to remove material from the shoulder on the barrel and that will require resetting the barrel-cylinder gap and probably recutting the forcing cone.
