While I don't know anything specifically about NC State, I do know that, just because you get into vet school, it doesn't mean you are guaranteed to get your DVM. Professors are allowed to fail students, and several per year at other vet schools are either held back to repeat a year or drop out all together.

Time spent in several different areas of the field is equally important to how long you’ve spent exposed to the vet industry. Then class usually starts back at 1:10 and we might have one or two classes getting done at 2 or 3. On Thursdays, we get done at 2, but some people have a 2 hour lab or tutorial, others have a break, then we have a class from 4-5. Thursdays are usually the only 9-5 days. Most days we are done by 2-3, occasionally 4.
